In a heartwarming display of commitment to education, Supervisory Councilor for Education, Dr. Simeon Olaoluwa, has distributed exercise books to students in several public schools across Akinyele Local Government Area, Oyo State.
This noble initiative, Olaoluwa explained, is part of his corporate social responsibility to support the state government’s efforts, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, and the Akinyele local government administration, headed by Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, in enhancing the quality of education.
“We’re facing numerous challenges in the education sector, and it’s imperative we all pitch in to support the government,” Olaoluwa said. “I’m replicating the good old days when Chief Bola Ige’s administration provided free lockers, exercise books, and textbooks to students. I believe this will inspire the current generation to give back to society.”
Olaoluwa chose to distribute the exercise books during school assemblies to encourage students to arrive early and participate in morning gatherings.
He also took the opportunity to counsel the students on the importance of focusing on their studies and avoiding distractions.
The schools visited include Akingbile/Oluana Community Grammar School (Ward 5), Akingbile/Oluana Community Primary School (Ward 5), Shasha Community Secondary School (Ward 8), Lagbeja Community Primary School (Ward 8), and Community Primary School, Sagbe (Ward 5).
“I’ve always been driven by a spirit of giving, and this is just one way I’m contributing to the growth of our education sector,” Olaoluwa said.
