In a bold counterattack, Nigerian troops under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) successfully repelled a terrorist attack on their camp in Kukawa Town, Borno State, killing 12 terrorists and seizing a substantial cache of arms and ammunition.

In the news followed by G-Reports, the pre-dawn attack, which occurred on November 25, 2024, was launched by terrorists mounted on gun trucks and motorcycles. However, the gallant troops, backed by air support and unmanned aerial vehicles, fought back with overwhelming firepower, forcing the terrorists to retreat in disarray.

During the confrontation, the troops were able to recover several items from the terrorists, including AK-47 rifles, rocket-propelled grenade bombs, anti-aircraft guns, and heavy machine guns. The terrorists also abandoned 40 motorcycles and a significant quantity of ammunition.

Although three brave soldiers lost their lives during the attack, their sacrifice will not be in vain. The Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen OO Oluyede, commended the troops for their courage and urged them to sustain their momentum in ongoing clearance operations and fighting patrols.

The successful repulsion of the terrorist attack is a testament to the Nigerian military’s commitment to protecting the nation and its citizens. Operation HADIN KAI remains steadfast in its mission to eliminate the remnants of terrorism in the Northeast, fostering an environment where socio-economic activities can thrive.
