Amb. Dr. Moshood Ismail Abioye has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State and Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for the historic donation of the PDP Oyo State Secretariat, describing the gesture as a clear demonstration of visionary leadership, party loyalty, and commitment to institutional strengthening.
According to Amb. Dr. Abioye, the donation goes beyond bricks and mortar; it represents stability, direction, and renewed confidence in the future of the party at the state, local, and national levels.
“Politics is a game of interests,” Amb. Dr. Abioye noted, “and while some individuals are naturally gifted in governance and others in political strategy, what remains paramount is not power tussling but legacy. At the end of our journeys, what will be said about us matters more than the power we once held.”
He emphasized that Governor Makinde’s stewardship of the party has marked a transition from uncertainty to clarity, describing the period as “a movement from light out of darkness.” He stated that the Governor’s leadership style and inclusive disposition inspired individuals like himself to identify with the PDP despite having several political options.
“The moment of His Excellency within the party has been a defining highlight one that encouraged people like my humble self to embrace the PDP. To derail from this conservative path will not be necessary, as greater accomplishments still lie ahead for the party, by the grace of God,” he said.
Otunba Abioye further expressed confidence that God will continue to use committed individuals, including himself, to strengthen the party and advance its ideals in service to the people.
Call for Peace and Strategic Party Management quoting directly, Amb. Dr. Abioye calling on the party leadership and governing organs (BOT and relevant stakeholders) to urgently prioritize peace-building and internal cohesion, “I am calling on the party leadership to actively restore and sustain peace within the PDP. Our dialectical natures, differences in opinion, approach, and temperament, are not weaknesses; but assets we must learn to manage.”
He stressed that perfection should never be expected from individuals, but collective commitment to a shared mission and vision must remain the guiding principle.
Using a practical analogy, he explained:
“The PDP should be managed like a corporate organization with two highly effective marketers who may not like each other, yet both remain invaluable assets to the firm. Their rivalry must be professionally managed because the ultimate goal is the success of the company, not personal sentiments.”
Amb. Dr. Abioye urged party leaders to rise above divisions, manage rivalries constructively, and channel all strengths toward winning elections, delivering good governance, and deepening democratic dividends for the people of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
He concluded by reaffirming his loyalty to the PDP and his belief that unity, strategic leadership, and legacy-driven politics will continue to define the party’s success under Governor Makinde’s leadership, which is unique and impossible to some politicians with many decades experience, a good reason to protects the strength of the party for victory Sake
