Dr. Moshood Abioye Commends Oyo State PDP Leadership for Intervening to Restore Peace in Akinyele Local Government

Dr. Moshood Abioye, founder of the Moshood Ajadi Foundation and a prominent political figure from Akinyele LG, Iroko Ward 12, has expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State for their timely intervention aimed at fostering unity and peace among PDP leaders and stakeholders in Akinyele Local Government.

In his statement, Dr. Abioye acknowledged the strategic role played by the state party executives, particularly the ever-resilient and dedicated State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke.

“We have little to achieve as a party if internal divisions go unmanaged. As humans, differences are inevitable, and so are clashing ambitions. But we must recognize that party supremacy remains final and binding on all faithful members. The PDP has remained consistent in upholding its ideology for decades, standing tall across wards, local governments, and even globally as a party rooted in values. Unlike parties that abandon their foundations for power’s sake, PDP continues to inspire loyalty in individuals like myself who believe in purposeful leadership built on shared ideals,” Dr. Abioye remarked.

Speaking further, Dr. Abioye who is a leading aspirant for the Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency 2027 called on political stakeholders within the local government to put aside personal interests for the greater good of the party and the people. He praised the efforts of notable leaders such as the performing LG Chairman Hon. Wole Akinleye, Hon. Kehinde (House of Assembly Member, Constituency 2), Hon. Monsuru Olalekan (House of Assembly Member, Constituency 1), and Hon. Segun Olayiwola, Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology.

“Now is the time to embrace peace, consolidate our strength, and demonstrate that the PDP remains the party of the people. We must ensure our internal structure is a model of unity, not a battlefield. True politicians collaborate more than they compete, especially when service, not personal gain, is the true motivation,” he stated.

He also commended respected elders and leaders in Akinyele for their guidance and wisdom, including Engr. Akinsola, Elder Aderibigbe, Alhaji Gazaly, and Secretary of the Elders’ Council, Leader Akintola, state financial secretary leader Opatokun. Dr. Abioye extended special thanks to the State Acting Publicity Secretary and Youth Leader, Mr. Michael Ogunshina, as well as the Women Leader, Alhaja Wulemotu, for their tireless dedication to party cohesion and youth inclusion.

“My heartfelt appreciation goes to every leader involved in the peace-building effort. Thanking you now may not be enough, but your actions have shown us that even in the face of inevitable conflict, we can manage, mitigate, and grow from our differences.”

As the party gears up for the process of selecting flag bearers for various elective offices, Dr. Abioye made a passionate appeal to the state and national leadership of the PDP:

“Let Akinyele be prioritized. Let our federal constituency, Akinyele/Lagelu, be rightly considered. Ignoring this may lead to another internal crisis we should all work to avoid. The youth have demonstrated capacity, commitment, and a history of impact. We deserve to be supported.”
