As the Islamic calendar ushers in the blessed year of Hijrah 1447 AH, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt prayers to the resilient people of Akinyele and Lagelu, the good citizens of Oyo State, and the entire Muslim Ummah across the world.
The Hijrah, the sacred migration of our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah is not just a historical event; it is a lasting symbol of sacrifice, strategic change, resilience, and renewal. It reminds us of the courage to begin again and the divine guidance that follows sincere faith and action.
“Indeed, those who have believed and those who have emigrated and fought in the cause of Allah, those expect the mercy of Allah. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah (2:218)
As we embrace this new Islamic year, may it be a turning point of spiritual upliftment, social justice, economic development, and divine tranquility in our constituency, State and our country at large. Let it be a year where faith informs leadership, and service defines politics.
Let us not forget the Prophet’s (SAW) teaching:
“A true Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands others are safe; and a true Muhajir (migrant) is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden.”
Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 10
To my dear constituents in Akinyele/Lagelu, may this year bring peace to your homes, blessings to your livelihoods, and unity to our collective goals. I encourage all of us to reflect deeply, act righteously, and uphold the values of patience, humility, and service to humanity.
May Allah (SWT) continue to guide our steps, strengthen our communities, and elevate our efforts for good governance and enduring development.
Hijrah Mubarak to you all.
Wassalam wa Rahmatullah.
