Oyo SHA@2: Applauding a Vibrant Legislature, Calling for Inclusive Development in Akinyele and Lagelu LGAs
A Statement by Amb. Dr. Moshood Ismail Abioye
As the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly marks its second year of purposeful legislative service, I, Amb. Dr. Moshood Ismail Abioye, extend profound commendation to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, and all Honourable Members for their dynamic and people-centered performance.
With the passage of 32 impactful Bills, 106 motions, over 100 Committee reports, and the introduction of the Post-Legislative Scrutiny (PLS) Unit, a first of its kind in any Nigerian State Assembly, the 10th Assembly has firmly positioned itself as a beacon of legislative innovation and public accountability. This record reflects a House that understands the pulse of the people and legislates with responsibility and foresight.
The synergy between the legislature and the executive under Governor Seyi Makinde has birthed a progressive atmosphere of partnership over partisanship. Legislative staff welfare, institutional reforms, and ongoing recruitment into the Assembly further point to a government that works and a House that delivers.
As a stakeholder deeply invested in the advancement of our State, I also take this moment to call the attention of the Honourable House to the developmental needs of Akinyele and Lagelu Local Government Areas. These constituencies, though rich in human capacity and economic promise, remain in need of stronger legislative support, infrastructure, and targeted interventions. I urge the leadership of the House to rally around the Honourable Members from these LGAs in the interest of equitable development across all zones of Oyo State.
May the coming years see even greater achievements, anchored in sincerity, diligence, and justice for all citizens.
Congratulations once again to the Speaker, Lagelu/Akinyele state honourables and other Members of the 10th Assembly. The people of Oyo State are watching and indeed, your record speaks for itself.
