In a bold move to strengthen access to education and empower young people, the Akinyele Local Government has announced a 1,000 Free Tuition Scholarship for qualified students across the local government area.
The scholarship initiative, facilitated through the Office of the Executive Vice Chairman, Hon. Sakiru Akintunde, is open to Akinyele indigenes and residents seeking admission into National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
According to the announcement, the scholarship is designed to reduce the financial burden on parents and guardians while encouraging more youths to pursue tertiary education and skill development.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Sakiru Akintunde reaffirmed the commitment of the Akinyele Local Government leadership to education as a tool for sustainable development, youth empowerment, and community growth.
“Education remains a key pillar of development and our administration value this so much. This scholarship is part of our resolve to ensure that no willing and qualified student is denied education due to financial constraints, we appreciate our partners on this who is also a stakeholder and one of the vibrant youth in the LG that we continue to be proud of” he noted.
Eligibility & Requirements
Interested candidates are expected to present:
O’Level result (one or two sittings)
Birth Certificate
Recent Passport Photograph.
Scholarship forms can be obtained at the following locations:
Office of the Executive Vice Chairman, Akinyele South, Igbo Oloyin LCDA. Ablakow Building, Sagbe Bus Stop, Moniya. Iroko Community Grammar School. JAO Shopping Complex, Shasha, along Ajibode Road, Ibadan.
The programme is being implemented in collaboration with Mosh Estrella Institute in affiliation with the polytechnic Ibadan, Moshood Ajadi Foundation through her scholarship initiative. This initiative is to further reinforce community-driven support for education.
