Moshood Ajadi Foundation urged residents, market men and women, artisans, Government, non- governmental organization NGO, and commercial establishment to prioritize environmental cleanliness to prevent the spread of diseases.
The founder Dr Moshood and his team commemorate this year 2024 world clean up day advocacy and sensitization tagged: “Arctic cities and Marine Litter”
He said good sanitation practice is not an individual responsibility but a collective one everyone must take action, residents cannot continue to accuse the government while they continue dumping their waste in drainage.
He urged government agencies to orientate the people in the community on how to dispose their waste, anyone who violate should be sanction for his or her offense at minimal correctional measures, that wont still inflict abject poverty or inconvenience to the people.
Our environment need better hygiene that improve potential of our economy in the face of local and foreign investors, only an hygienic society will be sickness, diseases free and promote growth and development.
Amb. Moshood uses this opportunity to commend his political mentor, the executive chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Wole Akinleye for his proactive response to my call on old road Akingbile/Kara refuse dumping ground that has spill to the road. It is not to my surprise as mentor took to action this next day despite reporting the situation at late at night. May God continue to strengthen to you and us as well as my role model Engr. Seyi Makinde.
We can have a safer clean environment if we could have a conscious dirty free society, using this opportunities to call on malls to charge token for their mall like its done in other countries and some states of Nigeria, so citizens can be conscious of usage and proper disposal of polythene and nylon due to the extra charges.
