The city of Ibadan was agog with the south-west gladiators of the People’s Democratic Party during the 2025 Zonal Congress.
News report made available to G-Reports International Media has it that Amb. Dr. Moshood Ismail Abioye, the Otunba Oniroko of Irokoland, gave a vote of confidence to Governors Adeleke Nurudeem Jackson, Seyi Makinde, and all entire committees behind the success of the congress.
“I am indeed happy for the success of the 2025 PDP Southwest Conference. Though not surprised at this success, because the cordial working relationships between Osun State and Oyo State will definitely keep giving birth to greatness and development, which is the expected gain of the people being governed. I appreciate our great party, most especially the South West PDP members, for their maturity, civility and true citizenship in conducting a peaceful congress that will birth the leaders of the party. As practiced by the South West, I am hopeful that same will be replicated at the centre. According to my role model, His Excellency Engr Oluwaseyi Makinde, ‘This is an example of what we will see at the national congress later this year, and by the grace of God we’ll have a stable and consensus party that can unseat the APC-led federal government in 2027’. I am also optimistic and I believe that victory will surely be PDP’s always”.
Amb. Dr Moshood remarked that reports reaching his camp show optimism that the National Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party later this year will be massive and peaceful.
In a further reaction by Engr Oluwaseyi Makinde, “the rancor-free election shows the unity in PDP South West and is an example of what we will see at the National Congress later this year”.
