Otunba Abioye Urges Oyo Youths, Party Faithful, Decampees to Maintain Orderliness, Mobilise for Continuity

By Our Correspondent Ibadan

The Founder of Moshood Ajadi Foundation, Amb. Dr. Otunba Moshood Ismail Abioye, has called on youths, party faithful and recent decampees across Oyo State to maintain peace, discipline and orderliness while mobilising in support of what he described as the continuity of the state’s current development trajectory.

Dr Abioye made the call while addressing supporters and political stakeholders, urging them to come out in large numbers and participate actively in political activities, while ensuring that all gatherings and movements remain peaceful and orderly.

He said the growing participation of young people and new entrants into the political movement should be channelled towards constructive engagement, community development and the protection of democratic values.
“I am calling on our youths, party faithful and all those who have joined us from other political platforms to remain calm, disciplined and orderly. Let us troop out en masse, but let us do so peacefully and responsibly. Our strength must be demonstrated through unity, organisation and responsible participation.”
According to him, the people of Oyo State should carefully consider the direction they want the state to take in the coming political period, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections intensify.

He described continuity of development and governance as important considerations for the people, saying that, in his view, Oyo State should not return to what he described as “retrogression.”
Abioye also criticised the political direction being projected by the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the party’s position as contrary to the continuity he advocates.
He said:
“The continuity of progress must continue in Oyo State. We must not allow our state to retrogress. What we are advocating is a peaceful, organised and forward-looking political movement that puts the interests of Oyo people first.”

His comments come amid increasing political activity in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections. Recent reporting has highlighted competition among political parties, including the APC and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), as well as disagreements over governance and the direction of the state.

Otunba Abioye a major stakeholder in Akinyele Politics therefore urged supporters not to engage in provocation, violence or disorder, stressing that political mobilisation should be conducted with respect for fellow citizens and the democratic process.
“Let us mobilise massively, but let us maintain order. Let our numbers speak, let our organisation speak, and let our commitment to the future of Oyo State speak,” he added.
The statement comes against the backdrop of growing political preparations in Oyo State, with various parties and political movements strengthening their structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
