The Oyo State Aspirants Forum has congratulated members of the proposed campaign council for the 2027 governorship ambition of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, expressing confidence in their capacity to drive a people-oriented and grassroots-focused campaign ahead of the general elections.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Forum described the reported composition of the campaign council as a blend of experience, competence and political mobilisation, noting that the individuals being considered have distinguished themselves in public service and party administration.
The Forum particularly congratulated the Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, who is expected to serve as the Director-General of the campaign, describing him as an experienced administrator with a proven record of leadership.
It also extended its congratulations to Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo (RAD), Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, who is reportedly being considered as the Director of Women Mobilization. According to the Forum, her wealth of grassroots experience and dedication to inclusive political participation would strengthen women’s engagement throughout the campaign.
The Forum further congratulated Kazeem Bolarinwa, who is expected to coordinate youth mobilisation, noting that his experience in youth development and political engagement would inspire greater participation of young people in the electoral process.
Similarly, the Forum commended the reported emergence of Hon. Saheed Adeyemi Arowosaye, Chairman of Pacesetter Mineral Development Company, as the proposed Deputy Director-General for Oyo Central, describing him as a committed party leader with vast grassroots appeal.
According to the Forum, the proposed campaign council reflects a strategic effort to assemble individuals with diverse strengths capable of mobilising support across the state’s geopolitical zones.
“We congratulate all the distinguished personalities reportedly nominated to serve in the proposed campaign council for Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi. Their wealth of experience, commitment to public service and understanding of grassroots politics will undoubtedly add value to the campaign.
“We equally commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership and for encouraging the emergence of competent men and women in strategic political responsibilities. The reported inclusion of experienced administrators, women leaders and youth mobilisers demonstrates a commitment to inclusive leadership and effective political organisation.”
The Oyo State Aspirants Forum expressed optimism that the campaign council, when officially unveiled, would promote issue-based campaigns, strengthen party unity and engage stakeholders across Oyo State in a peaceful and democratic manner.
While noting that the list of campaign officials is yet to receive official confirmation, the Forum wished all the proposed members success in their expected responsibilities and looked forward to the inauguration of the campaign council scheduled for Friday, 31 July, expressing hope that it would mark the beginning of a robust and well-coordinated campaign ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
