A Year of Remembrance: Celebrating the Enduring Legacy of Our Royal Father, In Loving Memory of Oba Olasunkanmi Opeola (Kurunloju 1)

On behalf of the Opeola Royal Dynasty, I join the good people of Iroko Kingdom in commemorating the first anniversary of the transition of our beloved royal father, predecessor, grandfather, great-grandfather, and custodian of our cherished heritage, His Royal Highness Oba Olasunkanmi Ismaila Abioye Opeola.

One year after your departure from this earthly realm, the pain of your absence remains with us. The journey has not been without challenges, and there have been moments when your wise counsel, fatherly guidance, and royal leadership were greatly missed. Yet, through the grace of Almighty God, the family, the royal dynasty, and the kingdom you loved continue to stand strong.

As we reflect upon your remarkable life, we find comfort in the enduring legacy you left behind. The values of integrity, courage, unity, peace, and development that defined your reign continue to serve as a beacon for all who seek the progress of Iroko Kingdom. Your trademarks of visionary leadership and selfless service have not only encouraged us but have also provided a clear path for the growth, stability, and success of our dear community.

The foundation you laid remains firm, and the seeds you planted continue to bear fruit. Your contributions to the advancement of Iroko can be seen in the unity of our people, the resilience of our institutions, and the determination of the younger generation to build upon the legacy you entrusted to us.

As your successor-elect and a proud son of the Opeola Royal Dynasty, I remain inspired by your example and committed to preserving the noble ideals for which you stood. Though you are no longer physically with us, your spirit continues to guide our hearts and strengthen our resolve to move the kingdom forward.

In my humble reflection, I say:

“One year without our royal father has been a period of reflection and responsibility. While his departure left a void that cannot be filled, his legacy remains alive in every effort toward peace, unity, and development in Iroko Kingdom. His life continues to inspire us, and the values he embodied remain our guide. We miss him dearly, but we are encouraged by the enduring impact of his leadership and the clear path he charted for the growth and success of our people. May Almighty God continue to grant him eternal rest and reward him abundantly for his service to humanity and the kingdom he loved.”

As we honour his memory today, may we all recommit ourselves to the vision of a prosperous, united, and progressive Iroko Kingdom.

Kabiyesi, your labour was not in vain.
Your memory remains a blessing.
Your legacy lives on.

“Iroko is Great Again.”
