Chief Amb. Moshood Ismail Abioye has applauded the successful rescue and release of the abducted victims from Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the development as a welcome relief to the victims, their families, and the people of Oyo State.
In a statement made available to the press, Chief Abioye commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and all security agencies for their unwavering commitment, coordinated efforts, and professionalism, which led to the safe release of the abductees.
According to him:
“The successful rescue of the Orire abductees is a testament to what can be achieved when governments at all levels and security agencies work together with commitment and determination. I sincerely appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, and our gallant security personnel for their relentless efforts in ensuring the victims regained their freedom.”
Chief Abioye noted that insecurity remains a collective concern that affects every Nigerian regardless of status, emphasizing that protecting lives and property requires sustained collaboration among the Federal Government, state governments, security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and citizens.
He further stated:
“Insecurity is a concern to us all, from the grassroots to the highest level of government. It must continue to be addressed through collective efforts, intelligence sharing, community participation, and decisive leadership. The collaboration demonstrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde in this instance deserves commendation.”
While celebrating the successful operation, Chief Abioye urged both the Federal and Oyo State Governments to strengthen proactive security strategies aimed at preventing future occurrences. He called for increased investment in intelligence gathering, surveillance, rapid response mechanisms, and improved welfare and logistics for security personnel.
He also appealed to the governments to provide adequate relief, medical care, counselling, and rehabilitation support for the rescued victims and their families to assist them in recovering from the physical and psychological trauma they endured.
Chief Abioye reaffirmed that peace and security remain indispensable to sustainable development, economic growth, and social stability, urging all Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies with credible information while promoting unity and vigilance within their communities.
