The Oyo State Executive Committee (Exco) of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), in conjunction with the party’s Local Government Chairmen, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his leadership and commitment following the successful rescue and safe release of the abducted pupils and teachers from Orire Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on behalf of the party leadership, the APM Exco described the development as a welcome relief to the affected families and the people of Oyo State, while also applauding the efforts of the security agencies for their professionalism, courage, and dedication throughout the rescue operation.
The party noted that the successful release of the victims demonstrates the importance of collaboration among the government, security agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders in addressing security challenges.
According to the statement:
“We congratulate the Government and people of Oyo State on the safe release of the abducted pupils and teachers. We commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property and appreciate the gallant efforts of our security agencies, whose professionalism and resilience made this successful rescue possible.”
The APM leadership also acknowledged the support of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose continued commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture has contributed to ongoing efforts to combat insecurity across the country.
While celebrating the successful rescue, the party urged both the Federal and Oyo State Governments to intensify proactive security measures, strengthen intelligence gathering, improve community policing, and provide adequate logistical support to security personnel to prevent future occurrences.
The statement further appreciate his Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde for his effort and support even after the release of the abductees, as well as the federal government, Nigeria Army for providing appropriate medical care, psychological support, and other relief interventions for the rescued victims and their families as they recover from the traumatic experience.
The Oyo State APM Executive Committee reaffirmed the party’s commitment to supporting all genuine efforts aimed at promoting peace, security, and sustainable development across Oyo State and Nigeria.
